Hello! Here is a little bit about me: I have been a public educator for 23 years. I am a native Texan from the Dallas area but have also taught in Alaska and Oklahoma. I have taught everything from 6th-12th grade English to journalism to drama to creative writing. This is my first year teaching at de Zavala and in Irving, but I did actually grow up here. I graduated from Nimitz High School in 1990. I attended the University of North Texas and Texas Woman's University.
I have two dogs, Cricket and Zuzu, and a pair of finches. I enjoy traveling, hiking, reading, hanging with family and friends, and obsessively watching my favorite TV shows and listening to my favorite podcasts. I can't wait to have a great year here at de Zavala Middle School!
